Laws § 19-14.8-10","heading":"Certificate of registration — Timing.","body":"(a) The director shall approve or deny an initial registration as a provider within one hundred twenty (120) days after an application is filed. In connection with a request pursuant to this chapter for additional information, the director may extend the one hundred twenty-day (120) period for not more than sixty (60) days. Within seven (7) days after denying an application, the director, in a record, shall inform the applicant of the reasons for the denial.\n(b) If the director denies an application for registration as a provider or does not act on an application within the time prescribed in subsection (a), the applicant may appeal and request a hearing pursuant to chapter 35 of title 42.\n(c) Subject to this chapter, § 19-14.8-11(d), and § 19-14.8-34, a registration as a provider is valid for one year.","path":["Title 19 Financial Institutions","Chapter 14.8 Uniform Debt-Management Services Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE19/19-14.8/19-14.8-10.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:56:14Z","sha256":"db67f54f430d5026243701e98c6ad3ddccb68fb56bb6fa8fdbfc8e08bacb0eac","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-19-14.8-9","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-19-14.8-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
