Laws § 21-11-9","heading":"Penalties for violations.","body":"Any person, firm, association, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter or the regulations authorized by this chapter shall be punished:\n(1) By a term of imprisonment not exceeding three (3) months or by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100) for the first offense;\n(2) By a term of imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months or by a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars ($200) for the second offense; and\n(3) By a term of imprisonment not exceeding one year or by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500) or by both the fine and imprisonment for a third or subsequent offense.","path":["Title 21 Food and Drugs","Chapter 11 Meats"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE21/21-11/21-11-9.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:56:23Z","sha256":"b34ecf973f07a65454725a8220e0e45062689eced789cf017c4b777156c567d6","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-21-11-8","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-21-11-10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
