Laws § 23-13.4-4","heading":"“DecaBDE” study.","body":"By January 2, 2007, the department of environmental management shall submit to the general assembly a report that reviews the latest available scientific research to address the following issues:\n(1) Whether decaBDE is bio-accumulating in humans and the environment, and if so, whether the levels of decaBDE are increasing, decreasing, or staying the same;\n(2) How are humans exposed to decaBDE;\n(3) What health effects could result from exposure to decaBDE, and are current levels of exposure at levels that could produce these effects;\n(4) Whether decaBDE breaks down into more harmful chemicals that could damage public health; and\n(5) Whether effective flame retardants are available for decaBDE uses, and whether the use of available alternatives reduce health risks while still maintaining an adequate level of flame retardant performance.","path":["Title 23 Health and Safety","Chapter 13.4 Hazardous Chemicals — Contamination of Breast Milk and Environment"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE23/23-13.4/23-13.4-4.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:56:42Z","sha256":"d1a10a77afb58444dc252d7c1f48b2ce7d9b32d479de39026e708a883436cc47","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-13.4-3","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-13.4-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
