Laws § 23-17.14-27","heading":"General powers and limitations.","body":"For the purposes of exercising the specific powers granted in this chapter and effectuating the other purposes of this chapter, the foundation:\n(1) May be sued and sue;\n(2) May have a seal and alter it at will;\n(3) May make, amend, and repeal rules relating to the conduct of the business of the foundation;\n(4) May enter into contracts relating to the administration of the foundation;\n(5) May rent, lease, buy or sell property in its own name and may construct or repair buildings necessary to provide space for its operations;\n(6) May hire personnel, consultants and experts and set salaries; and\n(7) May perform all other functions and exercise all other powers that are necessary, appropriate or convenient to administer the foundation.","path":["Title 23 Health and Safety","Chapter 17.14 The Hospital Conversions Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE23/23-17.14/23-17.14-27.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:56:47Z","sha256":"e3b857085d85b24987a2a5e24385b62c9e3c2f6fe6e407bf4f122a8b8c86deda","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-17.14-26","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-17.14-28"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
