Laws § 23-18.6.1-10","heading":"Manner of making, amending or revoking anatomical gift of decedent’s body or part.","body":"(a) A person authorized to make an anatomical gift under § 23-18.6.1-9 may make an anatomical gift by a document of gift signed by the person making the gift or by that person’s oral communication that is electronically recorded or is contemporaneously reduced to a record and signed by the individual receiving the oral communication.\n(b) Subject to subsection (c), an anatomical gift by a person authorized under § 23-18.6.1-9 may be amended or revoked orally or in a record by any member of a prior class who is reasonably available. If more than one member of the prior class is reasonably available, the gift made by a person authorized under § 23-18.6.1-9 may be:\n(1) Amended only if a majority of the reasonably available members agree to the amending of the gift; or\n(2) Revoked only if a majority of the reasonably available members agree to the revoking of the gift or if they are equally divided as to whether to revoke the gift.\n(c) A revocation under subsection (b) is effective only if, before an incision has been made to remove a part from the donor’s body or before invasive procedures have begun to prepare the recipient, the procurement organization, transplant hospital, or physician or technician knows of the revocation.","path":["Title 23 Health and Safety","Chapter 18.6.1 Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE23/23-18.6.1/23-18.6.1-10.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:56:49Z","sha256":"4ad9ff03d389e16ea944a34c5f977eb8ebba7a3cee054561778fc5ae3d0c85c9","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-18.6.1-9","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-18.6.1-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
