Laws § 23-18.6.1-4","heading":"Who may make anatomical gift before donor’s death.","body":"Subject to the provisions of this chapter, an anatomical gift of a donor’s body or part may be made during the life of the donor for the purpose of transplantation, therapy, research, or education by:\n(1) The donor, if the donor is an adult or if the donor is a minor and is:\n(i) Emancipated; or\n(ii) Authorized under state law to apply for a driver’s license because the donor is at least sixteen (16) years of age;\n(2) An agent of the donor, unless the power of attorney for health care or other record prohibits the agent from making an anatomical gift;\n(3) A parent of the donor, if the donor is an unemancipated minor; or\n(4) The donor’s guardian.","path":["Title 23 Health and Safety","Chapter 18.6.1 Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE23/23-18.6.1/23-18.6.1-4.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:56:49Z","sha256":"340411a309b0a2d9e6e5779996ec14b4071474d48e74df75211a82d61259b09a","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-18.6.1-3","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-18.6.1-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
