Laws § 23-20.5-1","heading":"Definitions.","body":"When used in this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings:\n(1) “Director” means the director of health or his or her duly appointed agents.\n(2) “Food-service establishment” means any fixed or mobile restaurant; coffee shop; cafeteria; short-order cafe; luncheonette; grill; tearoom; sandwich shop; soda fountain; tavern; bar; cocktail lounge; night club; roadside stand; industrial feeding establishment; private, public or nonprofit organization or institution routinely serving food; catering kitchen; commissary or similar place in which food or drink is prepared for sale or for service on the premises or elsewhere; and any other eating or drinking establishment or operation where food is served or provided for the public with or without charge.","path":["Title 23 Health and Safety","Chapter 20.5 Choke-Saving"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE23/23-20.5/23-20.5-1.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:56:54Z","sha256":"89dddeed28366a52298c743574f0488313b1cf12e602e0400a94691cf167e36f","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-20-1-23-20-4","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-20.5-2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
