Laws § 23-24.11-2","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(a) “Children’s jewelry” means jewelry designed or intended primarily for use by children twelve (12) years of age or younger to be worn as an item of personal ornamentation, and does not include:\n(1) Toys or other products intended for use when a child plays;\n(2) Accessories;\n(3) Apparel;\n(4) Footwear; or\n(5) Any other product whose purpose is primarily functional and not ornamental.\n(b) “ASTM F 2923-11” means the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) International Standard Specification for Consumer Product Safety for Children’s Jewelry in effect on January 1, 2012.","path":["Title 23 Health and Safety","Chapter 24.11 Comprehensive Children’s Jewelry Safety Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE23/23-24.11/23-24.11-2.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:56:59Z","sha256":"589e62f249a2285adbc0c9434313a4bb847ca47343c3bfce6ee1975f9ce549d2","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-24.11-1","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-24.11-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
