Laws § 23-24.6-12","heading":"Comprehensive environmental lead inspections.","body":"The department shall develop and promulgate regulations for:\n(1) Conducting comprehensive environmental lead inspections, which regulations shall, at a minimum, include procedures for:\n(i) Inspecting, testing, and/or sampling of drinking water, household dust, painted surfaces, soil, and/or other appropriate fixed surfaces that may contain lead;\n(ii) Notification of owners, occupants, and mortgagees and lienholders and/or the posting of warnings when unacceptable environmental lead levels are identified during an inspection; and\n(iii) Notifying the department of the results of inspections;\n(2) For other inspections necessary to accomplish the purposes of this chapter; and\n(3) Collection of environmental media samples, including, but not limited to, dust, soil, paint, pewter, pottery, and water, and field analysis of their lead content.","path":["Title 23 Health and Safety","Chapter 24.6 Lead Poisoning Prevention Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE23/23-24.6/23-24.6-12.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:56:58Z","sha256":"ca470cc690611977d8cf5870cae96554dbe2b29c2233b2231ea6a7e49b4d4307","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-24.6-11","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-23-24.6-13"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
