Laws § 27-66-20","heading":"General powers and limitations.","body":"For the purposes of exercising the specific powers granted in this chapter and effectuating the other purposes of this chapter, the foundation:\n(1) May be sued and sue;\n(2) May have a seal and alter it at will;\n(3) May make, amend, and repeal rules relating to the conduct of the business of the foundation;\n(4) May enter into contracts relating to the administration of the foundation;\n(5) May rent, lease, buy, or sell property in its own name and may construct or repair buildings necessary to provide space for its operations;\n(6) May hire personnel, consultants, and experts and set salaries; and\n(7) May perform all other functions and exercise all other powers that are necessary, appropriate, or convenient to administer the foundation.","path":["Title 27 Insurance","Chapter 66 The Health Insurance Conversions Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE27/27-66/27-66-20.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:57:44Z","sha256":"d4d5cf14a0edf142ec584d0b2a1ac9c44fca6d860f38bb46a46c5343f5bec68c","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-27-66-19","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-27-66-21"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
