Laws § 28-47-7","heading":"Classification of group self-insurers.","body":"(a) The director shall administer all matters relating to group self-insurance under this chapter.\n(b) The director shall assign each group self-insurer, qualified under this chapter to one of the following groups:\n(1) Manufacturing and trade;\n(2) Transportation, public utilities, and construction;\n(3) Service industry;\n(4) Hospitals licensed under the provisions of the healthcare facility licensing act of Rhode Island that are subject to the provisions of chapters 29 — 38 of this title, and nonbusiness corporations not including educational institutions to which the provisions of chapter 6 of title 7 apply that are subject to the provisions of chapters 29 — 38 of this title and that are operated for the benefit of and in connection with any one or more of the hospitals; or\n(5) Miscellaneous.","path":["Title 28 Labor and Labor Relations","Chapter 47 Workers’ Compensation — Group Self-Insurance"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE28/28-47/28-47-7.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:58:03Z","sha256":"28a1452b692dfc00b74dc889b2b6817583dd0d4bf75a1cf7ff111da31f74ae3c","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-28-47-6","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-28-47-8"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
