Laws § 3-8-10","heading":"Possession of beverage by underage persons.","body":"Any person who has not reached his or her twenty-first (21st) birthday and has in his or her possession any beverage as defined in this title shall be fined one hundred fifty dollars ($150) to seven hundred fifty dollars ($750) for the first offense, three hundred dollars ($300) to seven hundred fifty dollars ($750) for the second offense, and four hundred fifty dollars ($450) to nine hundred fifty dollars ($950) for the third or subsequent offense. In addition, any person who violates this section shall be required to perform thirty (30) hours of community service and shall be subject to a minimum sixty (60) day suspension of his or her driver’s license, and upon a second offense may be ordered to undergo a substance abuse assessment by a licensed substance abuse professional.","path":["Title 3 Alcoholic Beverages","Chapter 8 Regulation of Sales"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE3/3-8/3-8-10.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T14:18:02Z","sha256":"2906a84fc666343860fc41e12ebd8e2c835517f918acf55fdb626cbcbcbb6b24","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-3-8-9","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-3-8-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
