Laws § 31-20-10.4","heading":"Exemption from discharge requirements of § 31-20-10.3.","body":"(a) Rural communities are exempted from the provisions of § 31-20-10.3(b) when:\n(1) A school bus is turning one hundred and eighty degrees (180 degrees) on a road;\n(2) A school bus is backing up on a road; or\n(3) A school bus is stopping on a road of low traffic flow.\n(b) For purposes of this section, “rural community” means any community in which there is a regionalized school district and the towns of Burrillville, Scituate, Little Compton, and New Shoreham.\n(c) For purposes of this section, “low traffic flow” means any road designated as a road with low traffic flow by the state traffic commission.","path":["Title 31 Motor and Other Vehicles","Chapter 20 Special Stops Required"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE31/31-20/31-20-10.4.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:58:22Z","sha256":"caba757943e396a66b377bda52bc2337f86cd3bdce0a9c7e151c8d3282a17829","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-31-20-10.3","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-31-20-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
