Laws § 31-27-19","heading":"Operating a motor vehicle on a bicycle lane, trail or path.","body":"(a) Except as provided in § 31-15-17, no person shall operate any motor vehicle on a bicycle lane, trail or path, as defined in § 31-1-23(a).\n(b) Any person who operates a motor vehicle upon any bicycle lane, trail or path shall be punishable by a fine of one hundred dollars ($100).\n(c) The division of motor vehicles, upon receiving a record of the conviction of any person upon a charge of operating a motor vehicle on a bicycle lane, trail or path, shall suspend the person’s operator’s license for a period of six (6) months.\n(d) Emergency vehicle and employees of federal, state, and local government shall be exempt from the provisions when acting in the scope of their official duties.","path":["Title 31 Motor and Other Vehicles","Chapter 27 Motor Vehicle Offenses"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE31/31-27/31-27-19.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:58:26Z","sha256":"a84ffb002317f2a73a2eb1f8eedf8a63dcc1cc73d742f3a11d0b7c3e3d7b7ae7","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-31-27-18","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-31-27-20"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
