Laws § 31-51-8","heading":"Security of records.","body":"(a) The recorded images and live video produced by a live digital video school bus violation detection monitoring system shall not be deemed “public records” subject to disclosure pursuant to subdivision 38-2-2(4)(i).\n(b) All recorded images and live video that do not identify a violation shall be destroyed within twenty-four (24) hours of the date the live video was recorded, unless ordered by a court of competent jurisdiction.\n(c) All recorded images and live video that identify a violation shall be destroyed within one year after the citation is resolved by administrative payment, trial or other final disposition of the citation, unless ordered by a court of competent jurisdiction.\n(d) The privacy of records produced pursuant to this chapter shall be maintained; provided, that aggregate data not containing personal identifying information may be released.","path":["Title 31 Motor and Other Vehicles","Chapter 51 School Bus Safety Enforcement"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE31/31-51/31-51-8.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:58:31Z","sha256":"a1e997e62e2ee5c44e97afe9a4ad953df3659be66804ef7a89f5b1d07150d8cd","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-31-51-7","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-31-51-9"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
