Laws § 34-13-7","heading":"General recording fees.","body":"(a) The fees to the recording officers for recording the following described instruments relating to real estate shall be as follows:\nWarranty deed\t$80.00\nQuitclaim deed\t80.00\nDeed of executor, administrator,\n\ttrustee, conservator, receiver,\n\tor commissioner\t80.00\nMortgage\t60.00\nPartial release of mortgage\t45.00\nAssignment of mortgage\t45.00\nForeclosure deed under power of sale\n\twith affidavit\t80.00\nLease\t60.00\nGeneral assignment\t45.00\nDischarge of mortgage\t45.00\nDischarge of attachment or execution\t45.00\nAny other instrument not otherwise\n\texpressly provided for by statute\t45.00\nLien – Federal tax\t7.25\nLien – Federal tax, discharge of\t7.25\nMaps, plats, surveys, drawings (not\n\tattached to or a part of another\n\trecordable instrument)\t45.00\nBill of sale\t45.00\nPower of attorney\t45.00\nLis pendens\t80.00\nWrit of attachment or execution affecting\n\ttitle to real estate\t10.00\nWrit of attachment or lien affecting title to mobile\n\tand manufactured homes\t2.00\nNotice of intention under the mechanics’ lien law\t8.00\nAccount under mechanics’ lien law\t10.00\n(b) The recording officers shall be allowed to charge a rate of one dollar ($1.00) for each additional page or fraction over.\n(c) Ten percent (10%) of the recording fees provided for in this section shall be utilized by each city or town for the purposes of document preservation and technological upgrades.\n(d) Notwithstanding the foregoing, the recording fee for lis pendens and/or bail property liens recorded by bailbondsmen and the recording fee to discharge lis pendens and/or bail property liens recorded by bailbondsmen shall be ten dollars ($10.00).","path":["Title 34 Property","Chapter 13 Recording of Instruments"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE34/34-13/34-13-7.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:58:44Z","sha256":"ae2b4ea163335010e2495d139a92650f5321768f757cf79007db57efea327dcb","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-34-13-6","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-34-13-8"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
