Laws § 34-18-37","heading":"Termination of periodic tenancy.","body":"(a) The landlord or the tenant may terminate a week-to-week tenancy by a written notice, in a form substantially similar to that provided in § 34-18-56(c), delivered to the other at least ten (10) days before the termination date specified in the notice.\n(b) The landlord or the tenant may terminate a month-to-month tenancy or any periodic tenancy for more than a month or less than a year by a written notice, in a form substantially similar to that provided in § 34-18-56(c), delivered to the other at least thirty (30) days before the date specified in the notice.\n(c) The landlord or tenant may terminate a year-to-year tenancy by written notice, in a form substantially similar to that provided in § 34-18-56(c), delivered to the other at least three (3) months prior to the expiration of the occupation year.","path":["Title 34 Property","Chapter 18 Residential Landlord and Tenant Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE34/34-18/34-18-37.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:58:45Z","sha256":"b01d932ce0010532963f75fbabb0c71ac0660fd25ba75fc4493cc985b6a7149d","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-34-18-36","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-34-18-38"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
