Laws § 39-27-4","heading":"Scope.","body":"(a) The provisions of this chapter apply to the following types of new products sold, offered for sale, or installed in the state:\n(1) Automatic commercial icemakers;\n(2) Commercial clothes washers;\n(3) Commercial pre-rinse spray valves;\n(4) Commercial refrigerators, freezers, and refrigerator-freezers;\n(5) High-intensity discharge lamp ballasts;\n(6) Illuminated exit signs;\n(7) Large packaged air-conditioning equipment;\n(8) Low-voltage dry-type distribution transformers;\n(9) Metal-halide lamp fixtures;\n(10) Single-voltage external AC to DC power supplies;\n(11) Torchieres;\n(12) Traffic signal modules; and\n(13) Unit heaters.\n(b) The provisions of this chapter also apply to the following types of new products sold, offered for sale, or installed in the state:\n(1) Bottle-type water dispensers;\n(2) Commercial hot food holding cabinets;\n(3) Residential boilers and residential furnaces;\n(4) State-regulated incandescent reflector lamps; and\n(5) Walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers.\n(c) The provisions of this chapter do not apply to:\n(1) New products manufactured in the state and sold outside the state;\n(2) New products manufactured outside the state and sold at wholesale inside the state for final retail sale and installation outside the state;\n(3) Products installed in mobile manufactured homes at the time of construction; or\n(4) Products designed expressly for installation and use in recreational vehicles.","path":["Title 39 Public Utilities and Carriers","Chapter 27 The Energy and Consumer Savings Act of 2005"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE39/39-27/39-27-4.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:59:22Z","sha256":"d83b62a814bf1a1b89318c038e65e4ba0d3b7e2aab59d4db4b88573311b09dee","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-39-27-3","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-39-27-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
