Laws § 40-6.4-4","heading":"Program voluntary — Elements of program.","body":"The program shall serve both those AFDC recipients and people with disabilities who are ready to work and those who are potentially able to work given adequate support and job-readiness training. Participation in the program shall be strictly voluntary in all respects. The demonstration program shall include the following elements:\n(1) Provisions for referral and outreach, that will ensure the participation of those who are ready to work and those who require job-readiness training;\n(2) Utilization of the current system of supportive services, such as job-readiness training, child care, transportation, and transitional medical benefits, provided through the department of human services or other applicable provider agencies; and\n(3) An evaluation component to provide accountability and replicability, to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of the supported work grant-diversion model, and to enable comparison with other work models.","path":["Title 40 Human Services","Chapter 6.4 Incentive for Training and Employment"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE40/40-6.4/40-6.4-4.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:59:25Z","sha256":"17d3ca151962a45bfa744f526b0ed02c60e38087dc8e288cbfe4d9faa2a82791","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-40-6.4-3","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-40-6.4-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
