Laws § 42-157.1-2","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) “Director” means the director of the Rhode Island health benefits exchange.\n(2) “Exchange” means the Rhode Island health benefits exchange established within the department of administration by § 42-157-1.\n(3) “Health insurance carrier” or “carrier” has the same meaning as it does in § 27-18.5-2.\n(4) “Health insurance coverage” has the same meaning as it does in § 27-18.5-2.\n(5) “Individual market” has the same meaning as it does in § 27-18.5-2.\n(6) “Office of the health insurance commissioner” means the entity established by § 42-14.5-1 within the department of business regulation.\n(7) “Program” means the Rhode Island reinsurance program established by § 42-157.1-3.\n(8) “Program fund” or “fund” means the fund established by § 42-157.1-5.\n(9) “State” means the state of Rhode Island.","path":["Title 42 State Affairs and Government","Chapter 157.1 Rhode Island Market Stability and Reinsurance Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE42/42-157.1/42-157.1-2.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:00:14Z","sha256":"e99a16efc6a3a3b9caea9699813b30cfc5219667eb81244a92cc94e4afddc033","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-157.1-1","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-157.1-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
