Laws § 42-162-1","heading":"Legislative findings.","body":"The general assembly finds and declares that:\n(1) The 2021 act on climate establishes mandatory, economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets; and\n(2) To meet these goals, Rhode Island must accelerate its adoption of more sustainable transportation solutions, including electric vehicles; and\n(3) The widespread adoption of electric vehicles will necessitate investment in and deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure; and\n(4) Electric vehicle charging infrastructure must be made accessible to all Rhode Island citizens and businesses, and deployed in an equitable manner; and\n(5) The installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and other clean energy investments will support statewide economic development and job growth in the clean energy sector.","path":["Title 42 State Affairs and Government","Chapter 162 Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Program"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE42/42-162/42-162-1.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:00:15Z","sha256":"fc6c5240e84c9865965818b9b24662f8d1e6d73484b07e92b6e0991a57ea26f7","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-161-5","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-162-2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
