Laws § 42-164-6","heading":"Disclosure of address prohibited — Exceptions.","body":"(a) The secretary of state may not make a program participant’s address, other than substitute address, available for inspection or copying, except under the following circumstances:\n(1) If requested by a law enforcement agency for a law enforcement purpose with an accompanying warrant; or\n(2) If directed by a court order, to a person identified in the order.\n(b) The secretary of state shall provide immediate notification of disclosure to a program participant when disclosure takes place under this section, unless specific language in a warrant or court order prohibits it.","path":["Title 42 State Affairs and Government","Chapter 164 Address Confidentiality Program"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE42/42-164/42-164-6.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:00:15Z","sha256":"3e885ac26a1b82a57bfd7639428359bf2f61243eceee615b458b255573ea1352","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-164-5","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-164-7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
