Laws § 42-167-2","heading":"Purposes.","body":"The purposes of the executive office of housing shall be:\n(1) To develop and promulgate state policies, and plans, for housing and housing production and performance measures for housing programs established pursuant to state law;\n(2) To coordinate activities among state agencies and political subdivisions pertaining to housing;\n(3) To promote the stability of and quality of life in communities and neighborhoods;\n(4) To provide opportunities for safe, sanitary, decent, adequate, and affordable housing in Rhode Island;\n(5) To encourage public-private partnerships that foster the production, rehabilitation, development, maintenance, and improvement of housing and housing conditions, especially for low- and moderate-income people;\n(6) To foster and support nonprofit organizations, including community development corporations, and their associations and intermediaries, that are engaged in providing housing-related services;\n(7) To encourage and support partnerships between institutions of higher education and neighborhoods to develop and retain quality, healthy housing and sustainable communities;\n(8) To facilitate private for-profit production and rehabilitation of housing for diverse populations and income groups; and\n(9) To provide, facilitate, and/or support the provisions of technical assistance.","path":["Title 42 State Affairs and Government","CHAPTER 167 Executive Office of Housing"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE42/42-167/42-167-2.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:00:15Z","sha256":"c4ac173deae82c50a132bcc2c05b8b18cfa5af47d2f499be2b4582ffa0dee8ce","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-167-1","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-167-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
