Laws § 42-60.1-3","heading":"Scope — Exemptions.","body":"(a) The provisions of this chapter apply to the certification and enforcement of efficiency standards for the following types of new appliances sold, offered for sale, or installed in the state:\n(1) Fluorescent ballasts of F40T12 and F96T12 lamps; and\n(2) Luminaires with fluorescent ballasts for F40T12 and F96T12 lamps.\n(b) The provisions of this chapter do not apply to new appliances manufactured in Rhode Island and sold outside of the state; new appliances manufactured outside of Rhode Island and sold at wholesale inside of the state for final retail sale and installation outside of Rhode Island; appliances installed in mobile homes at the time of construction; or appliances designed expressly for installation and use in recreational vehicles.","path":["Title 42 State Affairs and Government","Chapter 60.1 Fluorescent Lamp Ballast Standards"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE42/42-60.1/42-60.1-3.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:59:55Z","sha256":"1880cadc4aafa7ef19da36d84a6fc10c7c1fd05eb34bb49144d64e031e1fa447","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-60.1-2","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-42-60.1-4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
