Laws § 44-3-5.1","heading":"Exemptions in South Kingstown.","body":"(a) The town council of the town of South Kingstown is hereby authorized, by ordinance, to exempt from taxation a specified dollar amount of real and/or personal property of qualified individuals, as defined in §§ 44-3-4 and 44-3-5, who are residents of the town of South Kingstown and are:\n(1) Veterans of war;\n(2) Unmarried spouses of veterans of war;\n(3) Veterans who are one hundred percent (100%) totally disabled through service connected disability;\n(4) Gold star parents;\n(5) Veterans who were prisoners of war.\n(b) The exemptions granted shall be no less than the amounts allowed pursuant to §§ 44-3-4 and 44-3-5.","path":["Title 44 Taxation","Chapter 3 Property Subject to Taxation"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE44/44-3/44-3-5.1.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:00:17Z","sha256":"88e49a038c3151246521e40e46c2a2c268e6e2cc0d5869de0f06ba7e21b36a45","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-44-3-5","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-44-3-5.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
