Laws § 45-25-35.1","heading":"Powers of authority.","body":"The authority:\n(1) May participate in any state or federal programs of low and moderate income housing assistance and community development; and\n(2) For this purpose may:\n(i) Enter into and perform a contract or agreement with the state, the United States, or a federal agency;\n(ii) Develop or operate a housing project if approval by ordinance or resolution is obtained from the governing body and chief elected official of the local jurisdiction where the housing project is located;\n(iii) Act as a public housing agency within the meaning of the federal law and as an authority within the meaning of state law; and\n(iv) Do anything necessary or convenient for its participation.","path":["Title 45 Towns and Cities","Chapter 25 City Housing Authorities"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE45/45-25/45-25-35.1.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:00:51Z","sha256":"a6bfe4757299560006346caaedb440c0906d9bbc54a1e09650788c0fb336d866","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-45-25-35","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-45-26-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
