Laws § 46-6-10.4","heading":"Derelict and abandoned vessel and obstruction removal fee.","body":"There is hereby established a derelict and abandoned vessel and obstruction removal fee which shall be in addition to the vessel registration fee assessed pursuant to § 46-22-4(a)(1). The fee shall be assessed biennially at the time vessel registration fees are assessed by the department pursuant to § 46-22-4(a)(1). All derelict and abandoned vessel and obstruction removal fees shall be deposited in the derelict and abandoned vessel and obstruction removal account established pursuant to § 46-6-10.3. The fees shall be assessed as follows:\n\tOverall Vessel Length (Ft)\tUser Fee\n\t1-15 feet\t$2.00\n\t16-20 feet\t$2.00\n\t21-25 feet\t$6.00\n\t26-30 feet\t$8.00\n\t31-35 feet\t$12.00\n\t36-40 feet\t$14.00\n\t41-45 feet\t$16.00\n\t46-50 feet\t$18.00\n\t51 feet and above\t$20.00\nPursuant to § 46-22-4(a)(1)(iii), vessels over thirty feet (30′) may, upon request, pay the derelict and abandoned vessel and obstruction removal fee, along with the registration fee annually at the rate of one-half (1/2) the biennial fee for a vessel of the same length.","path":["Title 46 Waters and Navigation","Chapter 6 Obstructions to Navigation"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE46/46-6/46-6-10.4.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:01:02Z","sha256":"b5cf9bc6c0e65d29238aae33590ac4af98a3b2f2c4a17bc1ff44a4f28de2d5d6","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-46-6-10.3","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-46-6-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
