Laws § 5-34-14","heading":"Qualifications of practical nurse applicants.","body":"An applicant for a license to practice as a licensed practical nurse shall submit to the board of nurse registration and nursing education written evidence on forms furnished by the department, verified by oath, that the applicant:\n(1) Has completed the preliminary educational requirements prescribed by the board;\n(2) Has furnished satisfactory proof that he or she successfully completed the prescribed curriculum in an approved program of practical nursing and holds a diploma or certificate from the program or is a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing or was a student in good standing at an approved school of professional nursing before completing the program of studies and, at the time of withdrawal, had completed a program of study, theory, and clinical practice equivalent to that required for graduation from an approved school of practical nursing; and\n(3) Is of good moral character.","path":["Title 5 Businesses and Professions","Chapter 34 Nurses"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE5/5-34/5-34-14.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T14:59:54Z","sha256":"5c22ed4c57abfad1eab8a5c50fa2b63b7b8de0d23e37efa1ed2ea35f91d7a920","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-34-13","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-34-15"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
