Laws § 5-35.1-2","heading":"Qualifications to practice optometry.","body":"Every applicant for licensure shall present satisfactory evidence in the form of affidavits properly sworn to that he or she:\n(1) Is of good moral character; and\n(2) Has graduated from a school or college of optometry that maintains a course in optometry of not less than four (4) years and is approved by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) or other accrediting body as approved by the board; and\n(3) Has successfully passed a national examination or other examinations approved by the department and the board; and\n(4) Any other qualifications as may be established in rules and regulations promulgated by the department.","path":["Title 5 Businesses and Professions","Chapter 35.1 Optometrists"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE5/5-35.1/5-35.1-2.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T15:06:19Z","sha256":"cf183b82963e4e7a15f4d200fc96bacb15011a47cde733e7b4cfd35d551a6a23","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-35.1-1","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-35.1-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
