Laws § 5-5-6","heading":"Grounds for denial of application for license or renewal of license.","body":"The local licensing authority shall deny the application for or renewal of license if it finds that the applicant:\n(1) Has violated any provisions of this chapter or rules and regulations promulgated under this chapter; or\n(2) In the case of the applicant, commits any act that would disqualify him or her under § 5-5-10 or where the applicant has failed to meet the qualifications of this chapter;\n(3) Practices fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation;\n(4) Makes a material misstatement in the application for or renewal of a license; or\n(5) Demonstrates incompetence or untrustworthiness in actions affecting the conduct of the business required to be licensed under this chapter.","path":["Title 5 Businesses and Professions","Chapter 5 Private Detective Act"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE5/5-5/5-5-6.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T14:18:11Z","sha256":"b0e55fce5b07013e8116404199b9105f03ef5a8fa9df87b1246788bc0ea7e41b","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-5-5","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-5-7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
