Laws § 5-5.1-11","heading":"Procedure for approval or denial of application — Hearings.","body":"The procedure of the attorney general in approving or denying an application for a license or renewal of the license shall be as follows:\n(1) If the application is approved, the attorney general shall issue a license in the form provided in this chapter;\n(2) If the application is denied, the attorney general shall notify the applicant or licensee, in writing, of the denial and state the reasons for his or her action;\n(3) Within fifteen (15) days from the receipt of notice, the applicant or licensee may request a hearing in writing;\n(4) If a request for a hearing is received in a timely manner, the attorney general shall set a date for a hearing and notify the parties of the time and place of the hearing;\n(5) All hearings shall be held in accordance with the provisions of chapter 35 of title 42.","path":["Title 5 Businesses and Professions","Chapter 5.1 Private Security Guard Businesses"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE5/5-5.1/5-5.1-11.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T14:18:11Z","sha256":"a64caed802b20669412e8205f282045e802496dd7f1b89ffabbee27fe09a723a","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-5.1-10","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-5.1-12"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
