Laws § 5-63.2-23","heading":"Penalties for violations.","body":"(a) It is a misdemeanor for any person, in offering his or her services to the public to:\n(1) Use in connection with his or her name any designation tending to imply that he or she is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and/or licensed marriage and family therapist unless licensed under the provisions of this chapter;\n(2) Use in connection with his or her name any designation tending to imply that he or she is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and/or licensed marriage and family therapist during the time his or her license issued under the provisions of this chapter is suspended or revoked; or\n(3) Violate any of the provisions of this chapter.\n(b) All the misdemeanors shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500) for each offense.","path":["Title 5 Businesses and Professions","Chapter 63.2 Mental Health Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE5/5-63.2/5-63.2-23.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T16:13:59Z","sha256":"0950c710ea526310abc4b6eb811267e3784d74ba3a9c3c16ac5a4eca176206f3","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-63.2-22","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-63.2-24"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
