Laws § 5-65.4-2","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Unless specified otherwise, the definitions of § 5-65-1 shall apply to this chapter. As used in this chapter:\n(1) “Board” means the contractors’ registration and licensing board established in chapter 65 of this title.\n(2) “Residential structure” means a building consisting of one- to four-family (4) dwelling units.\n(3) “Structurally remodeling” means work performed by a contractor identified by the board as impacting components that support a building’s safety or integrity, and any other work identified by the board that requires permits and/or inspections under the state building code.\n(4) “Supervising construction” means the performance, management, guidance, or oversight of the physical development of structures.","path":["Title 5 Businesses and Professions","CHAPTER 65.4 Residential Contractor Licensing"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE5/5-65.4/5-65.4-2.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T16:24:49Z","sha256":"29777b7d6fb4b512de800dcfc7f49f70b13bedd6d5008f3b40eab4a57aae3e03","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-65.4-1","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-65.4-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
