Laws § 5-8.1-8","heading":"Board of registration for professional land surveyors — Records and reports.","body":"(a) The board of land surveyors shall keep a record of its proceedings and of all applications for registration, which applications shall show:\n(1) Name, date of birth, and last known address of each applicant;\n(2) Date of the application;\n(3) The last known place of business of the applicant;\n(4) The education, experience, and other qualifications of the applicant;\n(5) The type of examination administered;\n(6) Whether or not the applicant was accepted or rejected;\n(7) Whether or not a certificate of registration was granted;\n(8) The date of action of the board; and\n(9) Any other information that the board deems appropriate.\n(b) Board records and papers of the following classes are of a confidential nature and are not public records:\n(1) Examination material for examinations not yet given;\n(2) File records of examination problem solutions;\n(3) Letters of inquiry and references concerning applicants;\n(4) Completed board inquiry forms concerning applicants;\n(5) Investigatory files where any investigation is still pending; and\n(6) All other materials of like nature.\n(c) The record of the board of land surveyors is prima facie evidence of the proceedings of the board and a certified transcript by the board is admissible in evidence with the same force and effect as if the original were produced.\n(d) A complete roster showing the names and last-known addresses of all registered professional land surveyors and surveyors in training and any sole proprietorship, partnership, limited-liability partnership, corporation, or limited-liability company receiving a certificate of authorization shall be available on the board’s website.","path":["Title 5 Businesses and Professions","Chapter 8.1 Land Surveyors"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE5/5-8.1/5-8.1-8.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T14:18:12Z","sha256":"4477755e2c183de40c9e3901327402a66aa2a67a2d73c903021824a6a61e7d60","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-8.1-7","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-5-8.1-9"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
