Laws § 6-17-2","heading":"Penalties for violations.","body":"Any person who makes or offers to make any contract defined in § 6-17-1, or who is the keeper of any bucket shop, shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by imprisonment for not more than one year. Any person who shall be convicted of a second offense shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than five (5) years.
