Laws § 7-12.1-603","heading":"Effect of dissociation.","body":"(a) If a person’s dissociation results in a dissolution and winding up of the partnership business, Article 8 of this chapter applies; otherwise, Article 7 of this chapter applies.\n(b) If a person is dissociated as a partner:\n(1) The person’s right to participate in the management and conduct of the partnership’s business terminates, except as otherwise provided in § 7-12.1-802(c); and\n(2) The person’s duties and obligations under § 7-12.1-409 end with regard to matters arising and events occurring after the person’s dissociation, except to the extent the partner participates in winding up the partnership’s business pursuant to § 7-12.1-802.\n(c) A person’s dissociation does not of itself discharge the person from any debt, obligation, or other liability to the partnership or the other partners which the person incurred while a partner.","path":["Title 7 Corporations, Associations, and Partnerships","Chapter 12.1 Uniform Partnership Act","Article 6 Dissociation"],"source_url":"https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Statutes/TITLE7/7-12.1/7-6/7-12.1-603.htm","current_through":"site files published 2025-08-13","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T19:34:49Z","sha256":"57dd2bc4fdc2b1edfabb5dcda03860f164b3cc50b090da0e1407862e7933ee31","source_id":"us-ri","stale":true,"prev":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-7-12.1-602","next":"us-ri/r.i.-gen.-laws-7-12.1-701"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
