Code Ann. § 1-1-1210","heading":"Annual salaries of certain state officers.","body":"(A) The annual salaries of the state officers listed below are:\nGovernor\t$98,000\nLieutenant Governor\t43,000\nSecretary of State\t85,000\nState Treasurer\t85,000\nAttorney General\t85,000\nComptroller General\t85,000\nSuperintendent of Education\t85,000\nAdjutant General\t85,000\nCommissioner of Agriculture\t85,000\n(B) These salaries must be increased by two percent on July 1, 1991, and on July first of each succeeding year through July 1, 1994.\n(C) A state officer whose salary is provided in this section may not receive compensation for ex officio service on any state board, committee, or commission.\n(D) Beginning with Fiscal Year 2022—2023, and beginning when the state officer's term commences and lasting until the term concludes, with the exception of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, salaries for the state officers listed in subsection (A) must be based on recommendations by the Agency Head Salary Commission to the General Assembly as provided in Sections 8-11-160 and 8-11-165.","path":["Title 1 - ADMINISTRATION OF THE GOVERNMENT","CHAPTER 1 General Provisions","ARTICLE 19 Salaries of State Officers"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t01c001.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T06:15:54Z","sha256":"5983cd269c67c62fcd7d9d45be70b8b4cd06a520c09f05977bb793324a598aba","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-1-1-1040","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-1-1-1210--2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
