Code Ann. § 16-11-30","heading":"Possession of master keys and nonowner key sets.","body":"(A) As used in this section:\n(1) \"Master key\" means a key which unlocks more than one locking device.\n(2) \"Nonowner key sets\" means a set of keys designed to open locking devices in a group of products, machines, or vehicles of a particular manufacturer, which differ in configuration from the keys issued by the manufacturer at the time of sale for the locking devices.\n(B) A person who has in his possession, actual or constructive, while engaged in the commission of a crime against the person or property of another, a master key or nonowner key set as defined in subsection (A), or if a master key is used in the commission of any such offense against the laws of this State, he is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be imprisoned not more than three years.","path":["Title 16 - CRIMES AND OFFENSES","CHAPTER 11 Offenses Against Property","ARTICLE 1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t16c011.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T06:44:29Z","sha256":"c96f6557dacb7314a4f7169e7155ff3175f3403100adcc486d7508e3d83f6b99","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-16-11-20","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-16-11-110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
