Code Ann. § 16-11-430","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this article, the term:\n(1) \"Dwelling\" means a building or conveyance of any kind, including an attached porch, whether the building or conveyance is temporary or permanent, mobile or immobile, which has a roof over it, including a tent, and is designed to be occupied by people lodging there at night.\n(2) \"Great bodily injury\" means bodily injury which creates a substantial risk of death or which causes serious, permanent disfigurement, or protracted loss or impairment of the function of a bodily member or organ.\n(3) \"Residence\" means a dwelling in which a person resides either temporarily or permanently or is visiting as an invited guest.\n(4) \"Vehicle\" means a conveyance of any kind, whether or not motorized, which is designed to transport people or property.","path":["Title 16 - CRIMES AND OFFENSES","CHAPTER 11 Offenses Against Property","ARTICLE 6 Protection of Persons and Property Act"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t16c011.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T06:44:29Z","sha256":"1f4757050001135875d771602339a3a1a79c8233c53579c45359138ac71ce7f4","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-16-11-420","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-16-11-440"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
