Code Ann. § 2-7-40","heading":"References to members of county legislative delegations in certain statutes affecting multi-county senatorial districts.","body":"In multi-county senatorial districts, all references in existing statutes relative to county affairs and appointments to the members of a county legislative delegation or language of similar import, except in statutes relating to appointments required to be made upon the advice and consent of the Senate, in a determination of action by the delegation under the statutes, shall mean a majority of the members of the House of Representatives resident in the county when such county is without a resident Senator and one half of such members when such county has a resident Senator and shall include in all such counties with or without a resident Senator at least one Senator thereof in those districts having not more than two Senators and at least two Senators in those districts having at least three Senators; provided, however, that this section shall not apply to any county having more than five members of the House of Representatives.","path":["Title 2 - GENERAL ASSEMBLY","CHAPTER 7 Legislative Enactments","ARTICLE 1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t02c007.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T06:18:04Z","sha256":"8f4f5da89194d399624cd787dc1e3a7587ab6ba5449fd8e679d39dd5476e47d1","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-2-7-35","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-2-7-45"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
