Code Ann. § 23-31-240","heading":"Persons allowed to carry concealable weapons anywhere in the State.","body":"(A) Notwithstanding any other provision contained in this article, the following persons who possess a valid permit pursuant to this article may carry a concealable weapon anywhere within this State:\n(1) active Supreme Court justices;\n(2) active judges of the court of appeals;\n(3) active circuit court judges;\n(4) active family court judges;\n(5) active masters-in-equity;\n(6) active probate court judges;\n(7) active magistrates;\n(8) active municipal court judges;\n(9) active federal judges;\n(10) active administrative law judges;\n(11) active solicitors and assistant solicitors;\n(12) active workers' compensation commissioners;\n(13) the Attorney General and assistant attorneys general;\n(14) active county clerks of court; and\n(15) active public defenders and assistant public defenders.\n(B) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (A), public defenders and assistant public defenders may not carry a concealable weapon into a local or state correctional facility.","path":["Title 23 - LAW ENFORCEMENT AND PUBLIC SAFETY","CHAPTER 31 Firearms","ARTICLE 4 Concealed Weapon Permits"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t23c031.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T06:51:14Z","sha256":"199414f4990156056d68fbe4873fa66fa7d8089b518cf77d2dddcc1dbed7c228","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-23-31-235","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-23-31-245"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
