Code Ann. § 33-19-103","heading":"Supplement definitions.","body":"In this chapter:\n(1) \"Disqualified person\" means an individual or entity that for any reason is or becomes ineligible under this chapter to be issued shares by a professional corporation.\n(2) \"Domestic professional corporation\" means a professional corporation.\n(3) \"Foreign professional corporation\" means a corporation or association for profit incorporated for the purpose of rendering professional services under a law other than the law of this state.\n(4) \"Law\" includes rules promulgated in accordance with Section 33-19-630.\n(5) \"Licensing authority\" means the officer, board, agency, court, or other authority in this state empowered to license or otherwise authorize the rendition of a professional service.\n(6) \"Professional corporation\" means a corporation for profit, other than a foreign professional corporation, subject to the provisions of this chapter.\n(7) \"Professional service\" means a service that may be rendered lawfully only by a person licensed or otherwise authorized by a licensing authority in this State to render the service and that may not be lawfully rendered by a corporation under chapters 1 through 17 of this title.\n(8) \"Qualified person\" means an individual, general partnership, or professional corporation that is eligible under this chapter to be issued shares by a professional corporation.","path":["Title 33 - CORPORATIONS, PARTNERSHIPS AND ASSOCIATIONS","CHAPTER 19 Professional Corporation Supplement","ARTICLE 1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t33c019.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:03:44Z","sha256":"1933ae90f9e1cab2d44e04699b13fa127b8bc1857007377df21a0a6c71e0766b","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-33-19-102","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-33-19-109"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
