Code Ann. § 36-9-623","heading":"Right to redeem collateral.","body":"(a) A debtor, any secondary obligor, or any other secured party or lienholder may redeem collateral.\n(b) To redeem collateral, a person shall tender:\n(1) fulfillment of all obligations secured by the collateral; and\n(2) the reasonable expenses and attorney's fees described in Section 36-9-615(a)(1).\n(c) A redemption may occur at any time before a secured party:\n(1) has collected collateral under Section 36-9-607;\n(2) has disposed of collateral or entered into a contract for its disposition under Section 36-9-610; or\n(3) has accepted collateral in full or partial satisfaction of the obligation it secures under Section 36-9-622.","path":["Title 36 - COMMERCIAL CODE","CHAPTER 9 Commercial Code—Secured Transactions","Part 6 Default"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t36c009.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:08:49Z","sha256":"f566220184a2a3886282c6e60c3281b36b0fe75e8230596c50c010f1b6a9f4c6","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-36-9-622","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-36-9-624"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
