Code Ann. § 4-9-420","heading":"Powers and duties of supervisor.","body":"The powers and duties of the supervisor shall include, but not be limited to, the following:\n(1) to serve as the chief administrative officer of the county government;\n(2) to execute the policies and legislative actions of the council;\n(3) to direct and coordinate operational agencies and administrative activities of the county government;\n(4) to prepare annual operating and capital improvement budgets for submission to the council;\n(5) to supervise the expenditure of funds appropriated by council;\n(6) to prepare annual, monthly and other reports for council on finances and administrative activities of the county;\n(7) to recommend measures for adoption;\n(8) to serve as presiding officer of the council, voting in case of council ties;\n(9) to serve as official spokesman for the council with respect to council's policies and programs;\n(10) to inspect books, accounts, records, or documents pertaining to the property, money or assets of the county;\n(11) to be responsible for the administration of county personnel policies approved by the council including salary and classification plans;\n(12) to be responsible for employment and discharge of personnel subject to the provisions of subsection (7) of Section 4-9-30 and subject to the appropriation of funds by the council for that purpose.","path":["Title 4 - COUNTIES","CHAPTER 9 County Government","ARTICLE 5 Council-Supervisor Form of County Government"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t04c009.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T06:20:49Z","sha256":"d50bde38382466b3ff72b7b49e0a60a6ae80ffea4050b98af859556792eaeef6","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-4-9-410","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-4-9-430"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
