Code Ann. § 40-25-130","heading":"Content of examination.","body":"The qualifying examination in Section 40-25-110 must be designated to demonstrate the applicant's adequate technical qualifications by:\n(1) tests of knowledge in the following areas as they pertain to the practice of specializing in hearing aids:\n(a) basic physics of sound;\n(b) anatomy and physiology of the ear;\n(c) function of hearing aids;\n(2) practical tests of proficiency in the following techniques as they pertain to the fitting of hearing aids:\n(a) pure tone audiometry, including air conduction testing and bone conduction testing;\n(b) live voice or recorded voice speech audiometry, including speech reception threshold testing and speech discrimination testing;\n(c) masking when indicated;\n(d) recording and evaluation of audiograms and speech audiometry to determine proper selection and adaptation of a hearing aid;\n(e) taking earmold impressions.","path":["Title 40 - PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS","CHAPTER 25 Practice of Specializing in Hearing Aids Act"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t40c025.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:21:29Z","sha256":"87fa430376ba127ec21a489c613b57930adb0f5236e493a4cb4cdd61f4c49bdf","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-40-25-120","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-40-25-140"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
