Code Ann. § 40-37-40","heading":"Powers and duties of board; seal.","body":"(A) The board shall:\n(1) determine the eligibility of applicants for examination and licensure as optometrists;\n(2) prescribe the subjects, character, and manner of licensing examinations;\n(3) adopt a code of professional ethics appropriate to the profession of optometry;\n(4) evaluate and set criteria for continuing education course hours and programs;\n(5) conduct hearings on alleged violations by licensees of this chapter or regulations promulgated under this chapter;\n(6) discipline persons licensed under this chapter; and\n(7) promulgate regulations in accordance with the South Carolina Administrative Procedures Act.\n(B) The board may adopt an official seal and may adopt bylaws governing its proceedings.","path":["Title 40 - PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS","CHAPTER 37 Optometrists"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t40c037.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:22:19Z","sha256":"1e73e56918b2f0112ef4714021d12bcf6b3fdc76850565e5a7fc04d7004e238c","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-40-37-30","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-40-37-50"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
