Code Ann. § 40-47-1285","heading":"Grounds for disciplinary action.","body":"Misconduct constituting grounds for revocation, suspension, probation, reprimand, restrictions, or denial of a license must be found when an anesthesiologist's assistant:\n(1) has knowingly allowed himself or herself to be misrepresented as a physician;\n(2) has filed or has had filed on his or her behalf with the board any false, fraudulent, or forged statement or documents;\n(3) has performed any work assignment, task, or other activity which is not on the anesthesiologist's assistant's written practice protocol;\n(4) misuses alcohol or drugs to such a degree to render him or her unfit to practice as an anesthesiologist's assistant;\n(5) has been convicted of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude or drugs;\n(6) has sustained any physical or mental disability which renders further practice dangerous to the public;\n(7) has engaged in any dishonorable or unethical conduct that is likely to deceive or harm patients;\n(8) has used or made any false or fraudulent statement in any document connected with practice or licensure as an anesthesiologist's assistant;\n(9) has obtained or assisted another person in obtaining fees under dishonorable, false, or fraudulent circumstances;\n(10) has violated or conspired with another person to violate any provision of this article; or\n(11) otherwise demonstrates a competence required to act as an anesthesiologist's assistant.","path":["Title 40 - PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS","CHAPTER 47 Physicians and Miscellaneous Health Care Professionals","ARTICLE 9 South Carolina Anesthesiologist's Assistants Practice Act"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t40c047.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:22:54Z","sha256":"b43e1caa2cf2417d3608f830b87ddf5d26282a7a0ee0aefce2322469d177d187","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-40-47-1280","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-40-47-1290"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
