Code Ann. § 40-75-40","heading":"Nomination and appointment of board members; vacancies; replacements.","body":"Board members from the general public may be nominated by an individual, group, or association and must be appointed by the Governor in accordance with Section 40-1-45. In case of a vacancy on the board, the chair, with the consent of a majority of the sitting board members, may appoint a temporary replacement for the vacated seat. The replacement shall serve until the Governor appoints a replacement for the vacated seat and the appointee qualifies.
