Code Ann. § 43-21-150","heading":"Educational and informational program.","body":"The Department on Aging, with the cooperation of the Long Term Care Council and the Department of Insurance, shall develop and implement a program to educate citizens concerning:\n(a) the availability of long term care services;\n(b) the lifetime risk of spending some time in a nursing home;\n(c) the coverage available for long term care services through Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance policies, and the limitations of this coverage; and\n(d) the availability of home equity conversion alternatives, such as reverse annuity mortgages and sale-leaseback arrangements, in this State and the risks and benefits of these alternatives.\nThis program must be made a part of the Preretirement Education Program of the South Carolina Retirement Systems.","path":["Title 43 - SOCIAL SERVICES","CHAPTER 21 Department and Advisory Council on Aging"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t43c021.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:28:54Z","sha256":"d378c4abec00604221793863de969fcb31667d4a77ceec51534cefee1ea8a8d5","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-43-21-140","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-43-21-160"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
