Code Ann. § 44-26-90","heading":"Rights of client not to be denied.","body":"Unless a client has been adjudicated incompetent, he must not be denied the right to:\n(1) dispose of property, real and personal;\n(2) execute instruments;\n(3) make purchases;\n(4) enter into contractual relationships;\n(5) hold a driver's license;\n(6) marry or divorce;\n(7) be a qualified elector if otherwise qualified. The county board of voter registration in counties with office facilities reasonably shall assist clients who express a desire to vote to:\n(a) obtain voter registration forms, applications for absentee ballots, and absentee ballots;\n(b) comply with other requirements which are prerequisite for voting;\n(c) vote by absentee ballot if necessary;\n(8) exercise rights of citizenship in the same manner as a person without intellectual disability or a related disability.","path":["Title 44 - HEALTH","CHAPTER 26 Rights of Clients With Intellectual Disability"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t44c026.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:31:44Z","sha256":"5ac520c567f80c89e1a48159e80af42598fc2d200dfdd9e2069dcc43168e2e2f","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-26-80","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-26-100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
